Freetown (Concord Times, June 10, 1999) - Ecomog backed by police and Kamajors yesterday discovered rounds of arms and grenades in the offices of Independent Observer office, at 1, Short Street, Freetown.
The newspaper editor, Sorie Sudan Sesay and other members of staff were taken away by the search party. A Nigerian computer Desktop Publisher, Francis Iluebulen was also arrested.
He was in the newspaper office at the time of the search. The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists executive is yet to make a statement on the development.
Not long ago, Jonathan Leigh, publisher of Independent Observer was detained by Ecomog authorities for "security reasons".
