Following a tip-off, police in Kumasi have seized 40 packets of
cartridges from an (Egushebu)-bound bus at the Ghana station at
(Alabar), a suburb of the city.

A statement by the Ashanti regional police commander, Dr. K.K. Marfo,
said the cartridges which were concealed in two (words indistinct)
boxes, each contained 25 pieces of ammunition.

The statement said the driver of the bus, Musa Zublim, is helping the
police in their investigations since none of the passengers claimed
ownership. It appealed to the public to report all unauthorized people
in possession of arms and ammunition to the police for action,
especially in view of next month's general elections.
