Gambia: Gambia--Government Sets Up Commission on Arms Movement

The Gambian Government today set up in Banjul a National Security
Commission whose main mission is to fight against the movement of arms
in the country, it was announced from official sources in the Gambian
capital.

The commission is headed by a woman, Mrs. Issatu Njie Saidy, and
comprises some 15 people including the Interior Minister Momodou
Bojang, Chief of Defense Staff Bubacar Jatta, and the director of
National Security Agency and the head of the police service.

Among other tasks assigned to the commission is an information campaign
to encourage the people to respect and defend the law. Youth
associations and other movements will be included in the activities of
