(Translated Text) Angola is sending troops to Cote d'Ivoire. Luanda has
made no comment on this and no official explanation has been given.
However, two Iliouchine planes transporting two armored vehicles
arrived at the Abidjan airport this morning. Claude Cyril reports from
Abidjan.

(Begin Cyril recording) The nature of the equipment is not known.
Sources speak of two armored vehicles equipped with small guns, two
armored vehicles for troop transport, or even two T55 tanks. In any
case, these were delivered by an Iliouchine plane. Helicopters and
cargoes of ammunition are also said to have arrived from Eastern
Europe. Could the delivery of this equipment signal the beginning of a
fuller involvement by Angola in the Ivorian crisis through troop
supplying? That is the question being asked. Abidjan and Luanda have
refused any comment on the subject for now.

Since President Gbagbo took office, both capitals have been having very
friendly relations. One of the first diplomatic acts from the new
Ivorian regime was to close the Abidjan office of the National Union
for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) opposition movement. (end
recording) (Description of Source: Paris Radio France Internationale in
